The objective of the emergency plan is to establish guidelines and an organized system for dealing with emergency situations, structuring technical and administrative procedures, responsibility and resources, aiming at a rapid and efficient response in emergency situations and preserving the safety of people and environment.

It aims to be a practical tool in emergency situations in order to restrict to the maximum the impacts of an occurrence.

An emergency plan should contain at least resources for Alert, Situation Analysis, Internal and External Support, Area Isolation and Confinement and Emergency Combat, Abandonment of Area, First Aid and Hospitals among many other aspects.
